Don't come early if you have a reservation because they will not check you in until 3pm sharp. They do however let you roam the park if you happen to come early. I did and it was great! Great picnic area, the have a larger boat ramp with space to move about and a parking space.
This place is simply beautiful! Peaceful and idyllic are words that would accurately describe it. A great place to bring your family to have a day out or simply to take a long walk.
The campgrounds were well tended, the staff was friendly and the facilities were clean. There was a nice playground and picnic area with pavilions and grills. I would very much like to come again and stay for several days.
Awesome State park, Suwanee river right next to you rushing by, woods all around, bathrooms clean well kept, nice. Wonderful trails, camping spots. What's not to love?
Lots of trails, little hidden features, a river, and perfectly shaped pine cones! The cabins were all well kept, the roads were in good shape and well marked. You'll have a great time no matter what you're into.
Unfortunately, we only stayed one night at Suwannee River State Park as we were on our way to somewhere else and we arrived just as the sun was setting. I did get to take a morning hike along the historic river and it was an extremely beautiful and peaceful place.
